They did not understand anything, but nevertheless they desired to understand things. Their hearts had been inside every kind of animal in the past, and had had all their animal desires fulfilled. In this way that particular part of the Great Question “Who am I?” which is phrased as “What is desire?” had been greatly answered. But to understand even that completely, they needed a mind, and they felt that and wanted that. It is just like in schools classes or even whole schools or whole countries where some boys and girls seem to be always ahead of others (because they had really done their best in their lives in the past), and they want to know more. So it was from among the best of the mindless creatures which Adi choose to give a mind first.

 (2) How could he give them a mind?

Adi himself had a very great mind. He was super-intelligent. So he could give small parts of his own mind to other beings, like when you take a match or a lighter and hold it carefully near the wick of the candle. Then only the candle will accept the fire in the right way and maintain it. Now the candle itself has become a bearer of light, and can be used to light other candles as well. Adi could do that always, no matter how many creatures he had to give it. But how? His own mind was far too great to be contained in the small brain organs of these creatures. He himself had to stay outside, but let a little bit of his mind enter into the brains of them. It is like if you want to light a candle with a very big fire: the candle would melt at once and be of no use. So Adi needed many helpers to pass on the light in smaller quantities – one for each candle – or, in our case, for every human being to be born. It is always the same fire-heart which is in them. So all candle-flames together are the body for the great fire-heart of the great fire. Of course candle flames have to eat candle-wax to maintain their bodies – until the wax is finished. Then the candle dies, but the heart of the flame never dies, because it is the same as Adi’s. So that is what Adi did with his own enormous mind-fire. He divided it into small mind-fires and thus lighted all the minds of all the creatures who he could give it, who were ready for it. From now own all these creatures could use their own mind, and apart from their own heart they now had a mind which had a heart of itself. And that was the Mind-Heart of Adi.

Do you know who these creatures are, and where they are? Have you ever seen one? I think you have seen thousands or even millions of them. The body of one of them you can see if you look in a mirror. These creatures are us. You and I and all people, young people and old people, living people and “dead” people. Do you use your mind? Always, or only sometimes? Do you also see that people use their mind more than others, and that some people seem to use it is little as possible? That is because not every human being got a mind at the same time. Some were the first and are now the most intelligent. Others got their mind later. But the most important thing is: what do you really want to do in your life? Do you want to learn, or do you rather play all the time, just as animals, and avoid solving difficult problems? If you are an adventurer and a hero you will use your mind as much as possible to solve the most difficult questions about the world and the universe and about yourself. Because remember, you are only a spark of Adi’s one great question: “Who am I?,” and finally every human being will solve that question, and when he or she has solved that question many will choose to be born again and die again and be born again and so on many, many, many times to help others to have not yet solved their question. Nobody can solve your own question which you are yourself, and you can not solve that question for anyone else – because even though all the questions came originally from Adi’s heart, they all have something of their own also that only they can solve. You can not solve it for them, but you can help. Always you can help. Even now, at least as far as you have already answered your own question. There are also people who, after having solved their own question, go and take rest and are never born again for an extremely long time. They have helped themselves only and are happy with that, but do not care much for others – because they have chosen to be selfish (which is actually a mistake made by their own mind).

So let us repeat in a few words what Adi’s task is, of which he dreamed: He sees that some creatures are prepared to receive a mind and he gives it to them. He gives them a little bit of his own mind-fire to the brains of them and thus kindles an own mind in each one of them. So from now on each of these creatures can think a little bit for himself. All the minds of all these thinking creatures remain for ever connected with the Mind-Heart of Adi, and therefore in the long term they will know everything that Adi will know, and Adi will know everything what all thinking people together will know. The whole process takes a long time, because more and more creatures want to receive a mind and are ready for it, and Adi has to work for millions of years to give them what they want. But this was only Adi’s dream, and all took place in almost no time. This he did until finally no more creatures were available to give a mind – they will get one in the far future. They remain animals for now, until they have learned everything an animal-heart can learn.

 (3) How to teach them to use their mind in the proper way?

Now to solve the first two problems had been relatively easy compared to the third problem. The rest of much of his life Adi would have to spend solving the third problem: How to teach each of the creatures how to use his or her mind in the proper way.
